Maxwell's First Month
Maxwell whirled into our lives like a tornado - and promptly fell asleep!.
For the next month, ably assisted by family & friends, we gradually got to grips with having another guy at the dinner table, with somewhat antisocial demands...

The Trip Home

Heading back from the hospital, Maxwell takes a well-earned break after the traumas of birth.

Musical Max

By day 2 Maxwell had already attended his first concert - the Edinburgh Renaissance Band.
In this picture he's clearly still taking it all in.

Tourneys Travel North

Day 6, so it must be a trip to Loch Ness, in search of the monster with family Tourney.
A possible sighting was later re-classified as 'ducks'.

Week 2: Max The Rock Star

Back home at the start of week 2, Maxwell dons his super-hero suit to appear in a video for rock band, The Aliens.

Here you can see him attempting to fly away from ridiculously dressed dad - SO embarrassing!

Being a precocious talent, he eventually decided the Aliens were too small time and decided to wait for Scorcese's call before making his big cinematic break.

Baby Taco

Re-creating the coziness of the womb to help keep Maxwell comfortable - oddly involving wrapping him like a Mexican taco and playing the noise of a vacuum cleaner (to simulate the sound of blood rushing through the womb)!

The 'Orange' Room

With his friendly (sinister?!?) mobile animals looking over him, the wee man has no problem dropping off to sleep.

Locked & Loaded

Securely strapped into his portable carrier, the Baby Bjorn, Maxwell heads out to his first party on day 9 - celebrating Kirstin Jones **th birthday!

The teeny man was an instant hit, playing to the crowd with his ultra-cute crinkled face (and showing a typical Carlops-based interest in fire...

Four Faces Of Our Little Friend

Top to bottom, left to right:
1) Getting Started: With little neck strength to support his head and barely any control over his face muscles, life's a challenge for a newborn.
2) Working out the World: Things were so much simpler inside the womb - no flash photography, for starters!
3) Heartmelt Time: During the feeds, his clear deep eyes cut straight through to the soul.
4) Sleeping Like a Baby: It's not all plain sailing but when he goes down to rest, Maxwell is an angelic button.
