The Beach

Our stilt-mounted bamboo hut looked out across wooden fishing boats and the hot, golden sands of gorgeously crescented Palolem beach.

What's Goan on?

Laid-back and tropical, life in Goa runs at a more relaxed pace than the frenetic north.

Dolphin-spotting

We watched as schools of dolphins performed acrobatic 540 degree leaps out of the warm waters of the Arabian Sea.

Too quick for our slow camera triggers unfortunately!
Rotting in jail

The remnants of a Portuguese fort, Agunda Jail hosts numerous western tourists silly enough to be convicted for drug offensives. Even smoking a joint can get you 6 months enforced holiday here.

On hot days arms hang out the windows of the sweltering, packed cells.

It's getting hot out here

By March, southern India is incredibly hot - our progress slowed to a crawl, punctuated by long siestas and constant re-hydration.

At least it makes a return to the invigorating climate of northern Europe seem appealing.
Look into my eeeeeeeeeeeeyes

Emulating Abbe Faria, legendary father of hypnotism, Magnus (yet again!) puts Cheryl under his spell.

Spot the tight-wad

Ever the spendthrift, Cheryl displays extraordinary strength, lifting a rock under which a 2 rupee coin had just rolled.
The stone chariot of Vijayanagar

Marooned in the boulder-strewn landscape of Hampi as the mid-day heat bears down, Cheryl (clearly suffering from heat exhaustion) believes she has found a means of transport out.

Oh I saaaaaaaaay!

The Vijayanagar were no prudes: their enthusiastically 'progressive' approach to sexual expression is depicted the walls of their temples for all to see on.
How am I ever going to sell these things?

The streets of Bombay are filled with strange little men selling gigantic phallic balloons.

The vulcan death-grip

On Chowpatti Beach, smiling villains roam the beach offering head massages.

After this brutal assault to the head and shoulders no fee is too great to bring the torment to an end.

Gateway to India

This European archway on the western shore is the classic entry point to Bombay and to the Indian Subcontinent.

For us, it is the departure point and marks the end of our Asian adventure.

Next stop : SAN FRANCISCO!!
