- What we did: Camping around the blustery but beautiful Western Isles of Scotland (Barra, Uist, Harris and Lewis).
- What we learned about travelling with kids: 1) Make sure the tent erects before you leave and 2) have a Plan B for terrible weather.

Until you dip a toe into the ‘invigorating’ waters...
Top Tip: Check that your camping spot isn’t a cow patch (avoids unexpected late night cow pat encounters when popping out for a pee...)!
Modeled on Hagrid's Hut from Harry Potter, these traditional stone houses seem impervious to the lashing horizontal rain that flies right off the Atlantic.

Perfect conditions, however for these seals hauled up on the rocky shore.
The bronze age Calanais stone circle.
Mysterious 5000 year old carvings hewn from 2.9 billion year old Lewisian Gneiss.

Catching up with Kitty before heading on out into the blue yonder.
Pancakes with pals and pulsing plasmatron installations at the Edinburgh Festival.
